Help your body’s natural protection against viruses!
What can you do to support your immune system and protect against colds, Flu, and even the Coronavirus?
Have you had your vitamin D levels checked this winter?
We should all probably supplement with vitamin D, especially this time of year.
Vitamin D is known as the sunshine vitamin, and here in the UK, we get very little exposure to the sun, even in the summer. Although vitamin D is stored in the body, after a couple of months of not being exposed to the sun, levels will naturally deplete. Hence people becoming ill with winter bugs might want to look into taking additional doses of high strength supplements during times of need, especially with all this grey and miserable weather we’ve been having!
So if you are immune comprised already, and suffer from any respiratory problems such as asthma or allergies then ask your GP to test your vitamin D levels.
Alternatively, pop in to pick up a vitamin D testing kit for £30, it's a simple finger prick test that can be sent to the NHS for analysis and you receive the results! Or if you’re not local then simply get in touch to discuss the test.
Colourful vegetables contain higher levels of vitamin C than oranges and apples. Eating at least 5 portions a day will help boost the immune system, for example, peppers, carrots, tomatoes, squash, sweet potatoes but don't forget your broccoli & greens!
Studies have shown that high levels of vitamin C can really boost the immune system and protect you from colds and flu, so at the first sign of a cold or sore throat then high doses of vitamin C may offer extra protection!
Use a cold water diffuser with protective blends of essential oils such as the Do terra On Guard may also be beneficial and offer protection against air-born viruses. And of course, personal hygiene and washing your hands frequently and thoroughly will offer protection against picking up bugs! Don’t forget to pick up some Anti Bar gel - We recommend Moogoo’s Antibacterial Sanitising moisturiser.

Please remember to always seek professional advice from a qualified Nutrition practitioner before taking any supplements, as they will be able to advise the correct dose and the most effective supplements for the individual.
